Alert ears will also pick up on some other familiar voices (Dre, Clipse, Missy Eliot), buttressing the oft-voiced contention that much of the innovation in hip-hop is being practiced by scavengers more interested in pummeling your lower intestine with waves of bass than creating new and interesting ring tones for you to hear on the 7 train. Megasoid will be DJing at Low End Theory, a party imported to N.Y. from L.A. going on at the Knitting Factory on May 2; I'd be more interested in seeing them at an as-of-yet undisclosed "rooftop venue in Buffalo" on June 13.
